Meet the team
The TCK GBJ team is composed of three 2018 Global Business Journalism students from Tsinghua University.

We are all proud third culture kids. Let us tell you a bit about us.
Emma Ho
I am a proud Sino Dusun Malaysian. This means that I have a Chinese as well as tribal Bornean roots.

I also went to boarding school in Bristol, England where I was the only Malaysian.

Afterwards, I did my undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Economics where everyone else on my course was European.

One thing that people notice most about me is that I don't speak like a Malaysian (nor do I speak British, actually) and they point it out a lot. My accent tends to switch depending on who I talk to. The ones I'm most comfortable with experience all of them.
angela Hua
I am not really sure where I am from, so I am a proud citizen of the world.

I was born in Brussels, Belgium and lived there till the age of 14 when I moved to Rome, Italy.

Having a Chinese heritage, I was brought up in the Chinese culture but I was also influenced by the European environment I was living in.

I went back to Brussels to attend the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where I studied Information and Communication.

People always try to put me in a box, for them, I either have to be Chinese or Belgian or Italian, but why can't I be all? To me, I'm just me, a proud mix of Europe, Asia and maybe some other cultures too.

I am a Chinese American. I was born in Shanghai, China. Then I moved to New York with my family at the age of 13.
There are lots of Asian immigrants in the United States already, so I didn’t feel too awkward in school.
I finished my undergrad degree in Financial Economics and graduate degree in Data Analytics.
My family is a traditional family, so I never forgot about my Chinese culture while getting adapted to the American lifestyle.
I consider myself Chinese because my personality and family are more leaning towards the Chinese culture.
